Nanotech momentum

Posted by AG under: Economic development; Education; High-tech .

Did you catch “60 Minutes” last Sunday and the story about the Kanzius Machine?

A radio engineer has invented a way to destroy cancer cells with radio waves and nanotechnology. Amazing, promising stuff.

Greensboro is positioning itself to be a part of this nanontech revolution. The next time you ride out East Market Street, be sure to check out the construction progress at Gateway University Research Park and the joint School of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering.

All those scientists, and the businesses that spin off from their efforts, are going to need some high-tech help. Today’s News & Record notes that GTCC President Don Cameron is looking into new programs to train technicians for careers in nanotechnology.

Action Greensboro believes that our colleges and universities are key drivers in this region’s future economic success. It’s good to see GTCC in the mix and adding to our nanotech momentum.
